At the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Tektronix will demonstrate end-to-end HEVC test solutions for broadcasters, cable operators and other service providers making the transition to 4K/UltraHD video.

New extensions to the company's MTS4000 and MTS4SAV3 test platforms, including HEVC analysis tools and a closed caption analyzer for FCC compliance, are intended to allow operators to transition to 4K with minimal impact to workflow, infrastructure, staff and budget.

In addition to the new HEVC support for content distribution, Tektronix is also adding features to assist set-top box manufacturers who need the ability to create custom 4K and HEVC transport streams to test 4K on set-tops. The MTS4000 is designed to let manufacturers create 4K transport streams from elementary streams and system information tables with custom parameters.

The MTS4000 provides transport stream analysis and interoperability testing, including analysis of the transport streams, PES, and elementary streams to track down sources of picture anomalies and identify transport streams with syntax errors.

MTS4SAV3 includes a closed-caption analysis-only version of the company's MTS4EAV7 software and is intended as a more cost-effective solution for broadcasters primarily interested in demonstrating FCC compliance.
