Verizon (NYSE:VZ) has introduced FiOS Quantum TV, which is designed to let subs record up to 12 shows at once; pause and rewind live TV on any TV in the home; and store up to 200 hours of HD programs. The service is built around the ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) VMS1100 media server and IPC1100 video client.
The new service will roll out initially in North Texas and Harrisburg, PA, where beta trials were conducted. The rollout is planned to continue in phases over the next few months in markets where FiOS TV is offered.
