Polish cable operator Multimedia Polska has selected hybrid middleware from Cubiware, a subsidiary of TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO), for delivery of digital video broadcast (DVB) via Cubiware-enabled set-top boxes and portal server across Poland. The deployment is initially intended to support HD digital video and PVR recording. The CubiTV deployment is also intended to provide an upgrade path to enable later upgrades for on-demand services like nPVR, catchup TV and additional capabilities.

Launched in 1991, Multimedia Polska provides digital TV with VOD, broadband mobile and Internet services, and fixed and mobile telephony to 822,000 customers in about 200 cities and towns.
