Universal Electronics (NASDAQ:UEIC) has reached a milestone with its QuickSet solution, having shipped the platform in more than 150 million devices around the world. The remote control platform is used by EchoStar, DISH, DirecTV, Microsoft Xbox and other video delivery systems.
QuickSet is a software and web service designed to enable automatic connection and control throughout the home entertainment ecosystem. It's embedded in CPE such as set-top boxes, connected TVs, media devices, game consoles, smartphones and tablets.
It's designed to detect connected home theater equipment and program the remote automatically, eliminating the need for manual IR code entry.
