Universal Electronics (NASDAQ:UEIC) has announced a new line of Android-compatible remote controls and will be demonstrating the latest features and capabilities of its new smart remote control lineup, including the newly launched UEI FUJI remote, at IBC2018 in Amsterdam.

UEI's Android TV remote control range offers control solutions from its basic OTT-centric voice controller, the UEI OLYMPUS platform, to the more advanced UEI DENALI and UEI Everest platforms that offer hybrid set-top box control, and the UEI INSINQ K2 remote.

The UEI FUJI Android TV remote control features charging with a USB cable. Adaptive Control enables users to hop between live TV and OTT streaming services and is compatible with Google Assistant for smart home applications.

Kuldip Singh Johal, UEI's vice president of sales, Subscription Broadcasting, said: "We are delighted to be able to demonstrate our growing range of Android TV remote control devices at IBC. I believe that the IBC audience will be energized when they experience the full potential of our market-leading off-the-shelf Android TV platforms for the pay TV industry, particularly our new UEI FUJI device."

"All of our platforms are based on UEI's foundational technologies," said Johal. "Each platform supports QuickSet Cloud, the world's only automated discovery, setup and control software, which enables fast time to market for customers ready to embrace Android TV."
