Videotron is launching a new technology platform in Quebec for entertainment and home management. The company's Helix platform is designed to support connected entertainment and life management with a voice remote, WiFi, and, coming soon, the ability to integrate smart home automation features.

Helix is designed for voice-controlled centralized search to bring up a list of video content from multiple sources in a unified catalog, including recordings, TV channels, on-demand content, or content from online streaming platforms like Club illico or Netflix. The voice control understands both French and English.

Helix' WiFi is designed to let subscribers control the home, no matter how many devices are connected. The Helix Fi Gateway automatically detects the home's connected devices and proactively performs updates.

New features will be added regularly to offer users new applications.

"Videotron has always been guided by its willingness to innovate, which is why our teams have worked tirelessly to launch a brand new technological platform," said Jean-Francois Pruneau, president and CEO of Videotron. "Our customers' needs are changing, and they are more connected than ever. We offer solutions for their growing needs to stay on the cutting edge."
