Kinetic ramps 2 Gig fiber internet rollout

April 26, 2022
The launch of 2 Gig service further underscores the new strategic positioning of Kinetic's “We Leave No Town Behind” initiative.

Kinetic on April 19 announced the availability of its 2 Gig Kinetic Fiber service in select residential markets, "as proof of the company’s continued promise to be an innovative high-speed internet industry leader," it said in a press release.

In its newly served premium residential markets, Kinetic said will now provide the fastest speeds available from all broadband service providers. The company added it will expand its multi-gig offerings for home and business into more markets and higher speeds in the future.

As part of its stated transformation "from a telecommunications provider to a technology leader," Kinetic noted is involved in a multi-year $2 billion capital investment strategy across its 18-state footprint.

Mark Lederman, vice president of product for Kinetic, commented:

“While many of our competitors are overlooking these markets, we’re optimizing them. As more homes have more devices connected to the internet, from gaming systems to streaming movies to refrigerators, families need faster speed to accommodate the demand. The new 2 Gig Kinetic Fiber internet can provide up to 2,000 Mbps of speed—twice as fast as 1 Gig service. This speed, delivered via a 100% fiber optic connection, provides ultimate reliability and performance for support of more connected devices and users."

The launch of 2 Gig service further underscores the new strategic positioning of Kinetic's “We Leave No Town Behind” initiative, to share Kinetic’s mission to bring high-speed internet service to the towns other internet carriers overlooked.

Just last year, the company laid nearly 81,000 miles of next-generation fiber across the communities it serves, many of them small towns and rural areas. Additionally, the company is creating unique partnerships with cities, counties and other groups to drive fiber deeper into the network faster.

“Deciding to live in the community that’s right for your family shouldn’t mean compromising access to what your family needs to thrive,” concluded Lederman.
