TDS Fiber starts gigabit broadband services in Spokane, WA

The initial offering began with six neighborhoods and can be paired with TDS’s all-digital TV service, TDS TV+, and phone.

TDS Telecom (TDS) reports it began offering gigabit broadband services in Spokane, WA, last month. The initial offering began with six neighborhoods and can be paired with TDS’s all-digital TV service, TDS TV+, and phone.

The broadband services provider says that deployment of the necessary 1,100-mile fiber to the premises (FTTP) network began last year.

As construction completes in other neighborhoods in Spokane, gigabit broadband service availability will be added. TDS says it expects to pass more than 88,000 homes and businesses in Spokane by the time the FTTP roll-out completes.

“We’re so excited to begin connecting residents to our symmetrical gigabit internet speeds, along with cutting-edge TV and voice service,” says Julie Maiers, vice president of marketing and product development at TDS. “Fiber-optic technology sets the pace for delivering the best internet, TV, and phone services available.”
