New FTTP network passes more than 7,600 locations and runs 87 miles.

Fiber broadband provider GoNetspeed says it has completed construction of a fiber to the premises (FTTP) network in Vernon, CT.

The $6.5 million FTTP project also will bring high-speed broadband to residents and businesses in Rockville and South Windsor, CT.

The FTTP network passes more than 7,600 locations and runs 87 miles.

The new communities join more than 30 communities across Connecticut in which GoNetspeed’s provides services that include 500-Mbps to 1-Gbps tiers. FTTP networks in other communities are under development.

In addition to Connecticut, GoNetspeed operates in Maine, Alabama, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and West Virginia. Oak Hill Capital is a major investor.

Tom Perrone, GoNetspeed SVP of network operations and general manager of Connecticut operations, commented:

“With the completion of our fiber-optic network in Vernon, Rockville, and South Windsor, residents and businesses now have greater access to reliable, high-speed internet and our superior customer service that comes along with it. Our goal is to expand access to fiber internet service, ultimately providing more communities throughout the state with improved flexibility and provider choice, ensuring that each individual is equipped with technology that will allow them to succeed in today’s digital world.”
