The HomeGrid Forum and Allion Labs, the organization's testing house in Taiwan, have awarded G.hn Certification to the ARRIS SURFboard SBX-1000P Extender; Comtrend Corp.'s G.hn Powerline Ethernet + PoE Adapter; Prime Electronics and Satellitics' G.hn Cable to Ethernet Bridge; and SendTek Corp.'s G.hn Coax WiFi Gb Ethernet bridge and G.hn Phoneline WiFi Gb Ethernet Bridge. HomeGrid says that the range of products and number of vendors testify to the fact that G.hn products are multi-vendor interoperable even with multi-vendor silicon and that the technology can operate over any in-home wire type--phoneline, wireline, and coax. It also provides a bridge for WiFi and CATV, allowing for a range of backbone home networking choices at gigabit speeds. "No other technology has achieved this level and breadth of certifications, from multi-source silicon to end-user products so quickly in its evolution," said Abdul Khan, chairman of HomeGrid's Compliance & Interoperability Working Group.
