At Cable-Tec Expo, BigBand Networks will showcase applications for targeted advertising, ultra-dense QAM, and IPTV for multiscreen video delivery on its Media Service Platform (MSP). Demonstrations feature the smaller MSP1200, making its Expo debut, and the flagship MSP2800. The MSP-based applications are designed to help operators optimize network bandwidth, monetize new services and increase advertising revenues.Interchangeable application plug-in blades are supported by the higher capacity 13-RU MSP2800 and the 7-RU MSP1200. For example, the MSP2800 is designed to support 3,800 QAMs while the MSP1200 is designed to support 1,200 QAMs, since each MSP QAM blade supports up to 40 QAMs per port. Both are designed to be CCAP ready.BigBand's booth will feature the first public viewing of advancements in the MSP QAM, the first public demonstration of the MPS used for splicing ads into linear broadcast streams, and a public demonstration of targeted ads into HTTP adaptive streams for linear TV viewing on IP-connected devices.
