The StreamScope RM-40 transport stream monitoring system now includes next-generation closed-caption monitoring and auditing capabilities. It can be obtained via a free software upgrade for existing customers. Service providers can monitor multiple TV services to ensure closed captions are accurate, synchronized, complete and appropriately placed on the screen in compliance with FCC 14-12. If a closed-caption issue is detected, the StreamScope RM-40 provides a real-time report, including high-res video thumbnails and text. This can help operators prevent fines of up to $8,000 per hour for flagrant violations.
The StreamScope RM-40 can simultaneously monitor multiple inputs, including QAM, ASI, GigE, 8-VSB, and SMPTE-310 for rule-based monitoring of industry standards and customized performance targets. It features a 10 GigE interface to meet the needs of cable operators that are transitioning to a 10 GigE infrastructure. With this end-to-end video monitoring and analysis solution, operators can proactively identify and resolve video and audio quality issues from the 10 GigE core network to the edge QAM modulator.
