ARRIS (www.arrisi.com) has selected MaxLinear's (www.maxlinear.com) MxL241SF tuner + demodulator for a series of DOCSIS 3.0 gateways. The products are designed to deliver eight downstream channels and four upstream channels (8 x 4) with four of the MaxLinear chips used to deliver four of the downstream channels.The MxL241SF is an integrated digital cable tuner and demodulator designed to exceed global cable video and DOCSIS standards. It's packaged in a 6mm x 6mm 40-pin QFN package and consumes 450 mW of power.
