Optical Internetworking Forum members approved a new project on Integrated Dual Polarization Quadrature Modulated Transmitter Assembly (ITXA), targeting lower cost, higher density applications. The project is intended to provide a common electrical interface for inclusion of other modulator technology that may offer cost and size reduction for a transmitter assembly. It's being carried out under the 100G umbrella program.
