Cablevision Argentina has selected Alcatel-Lucent's 100G optical coherent networking solution, which the vendor says is the first 100G-capable cable TV network deployed in South America. Cablevision has more than 3 million CATV customers and more than 1 million Internet users in Argentina. Alcatel-Lucent is supplying its 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) featuring 100G coherent technology.
