Infinera to Show Terabit Optics for CableLabs

March 9, 2012
Infinera will showcase its DTN-X platform, a multi-terabit packet-optical transport solution, at the CableLabs Winter Conference next week in Philadelphia. Infinera plans to show how optical networks based on photonic integration can provide a cost-effective approach to reducing transport costs per bit today and as networks scale into the terabit era.The demo will focus on how photonic integrated circuits (PICs) implementing 1 Tbps super-channels will be able to triple fiber capacity up to 24 Tbps on Infinera's DTN-X platform, which is built using 500 Gbps PICs, integrating more than 600 optical functions onto a pair of chips and delivering 500 Gbps FlexCoherent super-channels based on 100 Gbps channels.
