SpringNet, a metro service provider and division of City Utilities of Springfield, MO, has upgraded its optical network by deploying Transmode's TM-Series platform with its ROADM-based Flexible Optical Networking technology.SpringNet offers metro Ethernet services in the Springfield metropolitan area over its own optical network spanning approximately 428 route miles. SpringNet has deployed Transmode's optical networking solution as a ring designed for 40 channels to upgrade the existing WDM network. The upgraded network carries a mix of OC-12, OC-48, Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet and 10 GigE traffic.
