AFL has introduced the Fujikura 70S fusion splicer to the North American market. The 70S, designed for field use, retains the features of the FSM-60S and adds faster splicing and several new features. It's also compatible with the FuseConnect line of splice-on connectors. The sheath clamps can be removed for FuseConnect installations or for use with fiber holders for standard splicing applications.Model 70S features include:


  • Motorized wind protector and tube heater


  • Electrodes designed to provide 3,000 splices


  • 4.73-inch color LCD monitor with 300X fiber magnification


  • Configurable automation


  • Li-ion battery designed to support 200 splices and heating cycles


  • Transit case with detachable, built-in worktable


  • Video guides for operation and troubleshooting


  • Cleave length of 5 mm
