Visionary Solutions announced the D1000, an H.264 and MPEG-2 based decoder designed to support SDI (3G/HD/SD), HDMI, and DVI outputs with resolutions from 480i up to 1080p60. It's intended to bridge the gap between IRDs and consumer set-tops to offer IP video providers an end-to-end solution for streaming 1080p60 video and audio content.The D1000 supports VSI's encoder series. After receiving H.264 or MPEG-2 audio and video content from a VSI encoder, the decoder outputs the content in real time into a 1080p, 1080i, or 720p HD stream at the lowest possible bit rate. The decoder is also designed to ensure audio quality by supporting AAC, MPEG-1/2, and optionally AC3.
