Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) plans to transition the analog channels in its Basic TV package to an all-digital TV signal for customers in Bergen County, NJ, and Staten Island, NY, on June 25. The Digital Conversion Initiative (DCI) is intended to help the company free up bandwidth on its network in New York.The transition to an all-digital TV signal only impacts residential and commercial customers who have a cable line plugged directly into the TV, VCR, DVD recorder or similar devices. Some subs may require digital adapters (DTAs), which are available free of charge.Time Warner Cable successfully completed its digital conversion pilot program in Augusta, ME, in 2011. The company plans to continue the transition to all-digital in the New York City area later this year in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
