According to the Dell'Oro Group, the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) equipment market, comprising both metro and long haul applications, grew nearly 20% in the first nine months of 2013 compared with the same period a year ago. Revenue for the market totaled $2.3 billion for Q1 through Q3 this year. The segment is led by Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco and Infinera; the four vendors had year-over-year growth of 9%, 65%, 1% and 22% respectively.
