New Q3 data from Synergy Research Group indicates that Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) has maintained is leadership in four of five main video infrastructure market segments, though in video client hardware and software (which includes set-top boxes, residential gateways and associated software/middleware) it slipped to third, being overtaken by Pace (LSE:PIC). In the other major change in the quarter, HP overtook IBM to claim second rplace in the media data center segment. ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS), boosted by the acquisition of Motorola Home, has a clear lead in the video client segment and is the strongest challenger to Cisco in content management.Total video infrastructure revenues for the quarter were $9.4 billion, marginally up on the previous quarter and 3% up on the third quarter of 2012. On a rolling four quarterly basis, annual growth has dropped off a little to 2.5%.
