Inca Networks announced the general availability of its Modular Series 4400, powered by VidiOS, the company's SDN-based IP video processing and monitoring engine. It's designed to support both traditional linear and multiscreen video.

The 4400 series is designed to let users optimize the format, resolution and bitrate of lmultiple live satellite, IP and over-the-air digital sources for delivery to set-top-boxes or multiscreen devices. Options include modular platforms to transcode, transrate or downscale up to 24 HD or 60 SD programs to MPEG-4 in 1RU with integrated grooming and monitoring of all streams.

Optional front-end input modules include the Inca Receiver 4400 for reception and transcoding of off-air sources and the Inca ASI 4400 module for interfacing with legacy headend equipment.
