At HP Discover Las Vegas 2014, Harmonic (NASDAQ:HLIT) is demonstrating virtualized media processing technology based on its VOS software platform and architecture. The demo focuses on enabling virtualized media processing software to support a workflow from input of source video to output of transcoded, branded video with logos for multiscreen delivery.

Utilizing HP Moonshot, users can host a cluster of Electra XVM virtualized media processors. HP Moonshot systems are servers customized for specific applications such as video transcoding. The system incorporates common components like management, networking, cooling, and power elements into the Moonshot chassis, and is designed to accommodate 45 individually serviceable hotplug solution cartridges in a 4.3U form factor.
