Alticast has hired Bill Helms as chief architect and senior vice president of technology. In his new role, Helms will help Alticast develop products and applications for delivering interactive, multiscreen TV Everywhere services.

Helms, who holds more than 30 patents, joins Alticast from Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC), where he spent more than a decade as the MSO's vice president of subscriber engineering and technology. Prior to TWC, Helms worked for Scientific-Atlanta, DiviCom and Harmonic.
