Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) announced an expansion of its TWC Maxx initiative to include the Austin, TX, area. Launched earlier this year in Los Angeles and New York City, the program focuses on upgrades to the company's network, including all-digital video, increased Internet speeds and improved system reliability.

The Austin area has already begun receiving components of Maxx with free Internet speed upgrades that started in June, including a 300 Mbps tier, for both residential and business customers. TWC also continues to build out its WiFi network in the greater Austin area.

In addition, the MSO plans to expand the TWC Maxx project to seven more markets in 2015: Charlotte, NC; Dallas; Hawaii; Kansas City; Raleigh, NC; San Antonio and San Diego.
