ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) is introducing additions to its portfolio of compression solutions at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver. New products include the DSR-7400 Transcoder Integrated Receiver/Decoder (IRD), SE-7400 HEVC UHD/4K Encoder, and the ME-7000 Converged Compression Platform.

The DSR-7400 is the fifth-generation of ARRIS's Transcoder IRD product family, now with HEVC technology for UHD/4Kp60 resolution. It's designed for density and flexibility, and to eliminate SD content over satellite.

The SE-7400 is a single-channel HEVC UHD encoder for live linear encoding up to 4Kp60. It serves as the encoding component in ARRIS's 4K delivery portfolio, creating an end-to-end 4K platform when paired with the DSR-7400 or UltraHD capable set-tops.

The modular ME-7000 is a converged compression platform for multiscreen delivery of IPTV, cable and satellite applications. It offers multi-codec (MPEG-2, AVC, HEVC), multi-format support with SD/HD/UltraHD encoding and transcoding.

In other ARRIS news, the company is demonstrating a cloud-based network DVR service. It features cloud storage, dynamic ad insertion, just in time (JIT) packaging, and is designed to support both shared and unique copy capabilities.
