At Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, 3M is focused on enabling faster fiber deployment with solutions from aerial enclosures to onsite fiber splicing. Technologies being highlighted include a fiber cleaver, entry port system, aerial closures, and an FTTH NID.

3M's Easy Cleaver is designed for field-installable connectivity. Each unit is designed to provide approximately 120 flat cleaves and features a diamond wire cleaving mechanism instead of a blade. 3M says it requires no maintenance or blade rotation. The tool is included with select packages of 3M No Polish Connectors, Crimplok + Connectors and Fibrlok II Splices.

Other products at the show include the 3M External Cable Assembly Module (ECAM) cable entry port system, SLiC Fiber Aerial Closures, and the 3M Network Interface Device.
