UTStarcom (NASDAQ:UTSI) has introduced to the North American cable operator market a solution for a large-scale carrier-class managed wireless access network, implementing 3G/4G data offloading based on WiFi technology.
Included in the solution is the company's WiFi access controller (AC), designed to support more than 120,000 access points and more than 1.3 million subscribers within a single chassis. The solution also includes the company's MSG10K Plus and MSG2000 Plus multi-service gateways, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac outdoor access devices, and the MSG10K WiFi data offloading gateway.
In June, UTStarcom opened an office in San Jose that will serve as its North American headquarters. The office will house R&D, sales and marketing functions and features a product testing lab.
