Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has named Matthew Silvey as South Bay director of technical operations. Silvey will be based in San Jose, CA, and will report directly to Mike Valentin, area VP of the Southwest Bay for Comcast California. Silvey will be responsible for technical metrics as well as working with the frontline technicians and leaders in the San Jose, Santa Clara, Scotts Valley, Salinas and Monterey field operation offices.

Silvey has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, starting as an installer with TCI. He was most recently Comcast's network manager in the West Bay.
