Clearfield (NASDAQ:CLFD) announced FieldShield StrongFiber, an outside plant-rated 900 um optical fiber cable intended for in-duct placement. It's also intended for inside plant uses such as MDU and riser deployments.

Users may specify standard connectors or FieldShield pushable connectors designed for pulling through FieldShield Ruggedized Microduct. Teamed with the company's SmartRoute Deploy Reel, StrongFiber drop cables of up to 300 feet are shipped on a 4.5 x 1-inch reel with integrated bulkhead and pre-mated adapter. The adapter is designed to be mounted into a small form factor fiber management element, including customer wallboxes, demarcation points, pedestals and cabinets to SFU/MDU environments.
