Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) is beginning its "TWC Maxx" upgrades in the Dallas metro area starting this week. The project includes switching to all-digital video, faster Internet speeds (up to 300 Mbps) and network reliability upgrades. The faster web speeds are expected to be available early this summer.

The MSO also plans to deploy WiFi hotspots in Dallas. The TWC WiFi Hotspots have already started deploying in small business locations; deployment in outdoor locations is expected to begin toward the end of the first quarter.

TWC previously completed the Maxx upgrades in its Los Angeles and New York City markets, and has begun the upgrade process in Kansas City. The MSO plans to continue rolling out the upgrades in all its markets through 2016.
