Cisco and VECTOR announced their collaborative efforts to offer cable operators access technology from both companies including nodes, RF amplifiers and DOCSIS 3.1 remote PHY (R-PHY) equipment. The collaboration is a response to the need for European-style products for optimized size and power consumption on the so-called compact form factor.

Available this summer to VOO customers, the .évasion box will have a series of features, powered by Videoscape Snowflake, including a new user interface (UI) and mosaic video navigation wall and personalized suggestions via a recommendation engine. It also includes an "app store" customizable to service each member of the household with practical information including weather and local news. Additional features include a "Restart" function and a "See or review" function.
Finally, Quickline AG in Switzerland plans to deploy Cisco's cBR-8 CCAP across Quickline's footprint, including 21 independent cable operators. Quickline provides IT, telecommunications and multimedia services to 400,000residential and business customers in Switzerland.
