Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) has completed its $37 million TWC Maxx upgrade program in Kansas City, including faster Internet speeds, all-digital video, network reliability upgrades, and expanded WiFi.

Upgrades to TWC's residential Internet plans include: Standard, formerly up to 15 Mbps, increasing to 50 Mbps; Extreme, formerly up to 50 Mbps, increasing to 200 Mbps; and Ultimate, formerly up to 100 Mbps, increasing to 300 Mbps. Business Internet tiers now include speed plans of 100 x 10, 200 x 20 and 300 x 20 as new options.

In addition to an all-digital TV lineup, TWC's video package in Kansas City now includes Enhanced DVR, which is designed to simultaneously record up to six different programs and save up to 150 hours of HD programming on a 1 TB hard drive.

TWC has deployed more than 3,000 WiFi hotspots throughout the city and plans to add more through 2015.

The Maxx program, which was announced in January 2014, is underway or has been completed in a dozen TWC markets so far. The program's network reliability upgrades, in addition to improving service today, are also intended to lay the groundwork for deployment of DOCSIS 3.1 once that technology becomes available, TWC says.
