Evolution Digital has signed a distribution agreement with WOW! to deploy Evolution's eVUE-TV IP video solution. The deployment is intended to support both VOD [http://www.broadbandtechreport.com/video/vod.html] programming and WOW!'s live channel line-up on one platform. WOW! will be the first operator to deploy the eVUE-TV platform. The MSO plans to integrate eVUE-TV into its SW!VEL service on Evolution Digital's eBOX, powered by TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO), which includes universal search, navigation and recommendations features.

"Our great relationship with Evolution Digital has helped WOW! not only expand upon technological capabilities and the user experience, but also the content catalog that we are able to offer to our customers," said Cash Hagen, chief technology officer at WOW!. "Now, with eVUE-TV, our customers can easily find their favorite content to 'binge watch' from start to finish, without having to switch inputs and streaming providers to access that content."

eVUE-TV's IP VOD solution delivers content including new release movies, cable network programs and shows from premium networks. The platform also generates viewers' recommendations and is designed to support mobile devices in the home, including smart phones and tablets.

WOW! deployed the Evolution/TiVo eBOX hybrid IP set-top in May.
