At the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas in April, Broadpeak will demonstrate its content delivery network (CDN), video streaming, and video analytics solutions, with a focus on improving the user experience delivered over managed networks and OTT.

The company will demonstrate several new capabilities for its nanoCDN multicast adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming video technology at the show. The product is designed to turn deployed gateways, cable modems, WiFi routers, or set-top boxes into active components of an operator's content delivery infrastructure. It's intended to let operators leverage home networks to manage the consumption peaks of live multiscreen services.

The solution is designed for low latency in the live multiscreen ABR streaming environment, equivalent to what is experienced with IPTV. It's also intended to allow satellite operators to deliver live and on-demand services across tablets, smartphones, connected TVs, and other OTT devices by leveraging the end-users' set-top box.

Broadpeak will also demonstrate its cloud PVR solution, which is intended to enable operators to launch multiple recordings on various channels simultaneously, without any constraint on the available bandwidth or number of tuners on the reception device. The recorded content can be viewed on any device type. The product is designed to support all scenarios for shared copy and private copy cloud PVR and to deliver start-over, time-shift, and catchup TV, as well as impulsive recording, while only storing content once.
