Ubee Interactive will be building WiFi mesh technology into a series of DOCSIS 3.1 modem products using the "WiFigarden" SDK from New Garden, a WiFi mesh chipset solution provider.

The integration, which is expected to be available next year, is intended for whole-home WiFi solutions and will include WiFi access points, DOCSIS 3.1/3.0 gateways, DSL gateways and WiFi repeaters.

WiFigarden is designed to turn gateways or set-up boxes into WiFi mesh nodes featuring client and band steering technology to ensure devices always connect to the best available node and frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) based on real-time network usage.
