At the 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas in April, Viaccess-Orca will showcase its latest solutions in video content protection, data analytics, and cloud-based digital TV and OTT.

The company will demonstrate analytics and monetization capabilities for its cloud-based TV Platform as a Service (TVaaS) at the show. Highlights include:

  • Analytics dashboards to measure the effectiveness of content discovery sources, including recommendations, search, promotions, and catalog and apps exploration
  • A search analysis tool to provide insights on subscribers' interests, data on how well the current TV offering meets those interests, and feedback on the effectiveness of the search
  • An advertising functionality to let service providers manage multiple ad campaigns from one interface in the multiscreen environment. The solution is designed to support insertion of pre-roll and mid-roll dynamic ads into video assets across all devices.

With its Virtual Arena solution, VO offers a suite of technologies for service providers to deploy and manage video experiences on multiple devices, including virtual reality (VR) devices. Based on the company's VO Player playback infrastructure, Virtual Arena is designed to deliver both live and on-demand streamed, DRM-protected, 360-degree video content at 4K and above. A new app and multi-camera view were recently added to the solution. It also features data collection via multiple sensors, extraction of insights, and targeted advertising.

Viaccess-Orca's VO Player is a multi-platform video player that includes multi-DRM for VOD and live content, whether streamed or downloaded. It's designed to integrate with Microsoft PlayReady, VO's proprietary DRM, Google Widevine, Apple Fairplay, Verimatrix ViewRight Web, Marlin and others. The company says the solution is approved by all major Hollywood studios.
