Altice USA (NYSE:ATUS) has expanded the availability of its fiber-based gigabit Internet services in the New York tri-state area. Optimum-branded gigabit broadband service is now available in more than half of the company's New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut footprint.

"Now more than ever, consumers need access to fast, reliable broadband service as more households and businesses turn to remote learning and work solutions. With the continued expansion of our 1 gigabit Internet offering, we are giving more and more Optimum customers the ability to upgrade to faster broadband service to fuel their growing data usage for education, work, health, entertainment, and so much more," said Hakim Boubazine, Altice USA chief operating officer and president of telecommunications.

The company's broadband services also offer Smart WiFi, a whole-home service featuring band steering.

Altice USA is also continuing to expand gigabit service in its Suddenlink service areas across Texas, Arkansas, Arizona and more than a dozen other states, where it already offers gigabit speeds to more than 75% of households it serves in those regions.
