June 7, 2012
GENBAND announced the introduction of the A2 Intelligent Messaging Manager (IMM), a unified messaging platform offering a suite of integrated voice and messaging applications. Adding to the communications tools already available on the company's A2 Communications Application Server, the A2 IMM is designed to help service providers and enterprises to deploy a range of unified messaging services such as voicemail, voicemail-to-text, video mail, visual messaging, fax messaging and automated attendant services. It's intended to consolidate all messaging applications into a unified communications service across both wireline and wireless networks.Voicemail messages are transcribed and can be viewed and managed as email, allowing users to search, index, read, forward and print voice messages. Video mail features are designed to let users record and customize video greetings and access/retrieve video messages via the Web via computer, mobile phone or tablet. The Automated Attendant service allows service providers and enterprises to administer incoming call routing via Web-based provisioning and routing options such as dial by extension, dial by department, dial by name, external routing, time of day routing, general delivery mailbox and live operator.
