According to Digital TV Research, worldwide telco and cable operator triple-play subscription revenues are expected to reach $144 billion in 2018, up by $80 billion from the 2012 total. Triple-play revenues are expected to command 70% of total subscription revenues by 2018, up from 52% in 2012 and 36% in 2008.Worldwide triple-play subscriptions are expected to reach 333 million by 2018, up by more than 300 million since 2008 and up by 239 million from 2012. About 21% of the world's TV households are expected to subscribe to triple-play services by 2018, up from 7% penetration at the end of 2012 and 2% at end-2008.
