Following its recent move to an all-digital network in southern California, Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR) is doubling Internet speeds, boosting its HD channel lineup and rolling out a new top tier of services in the region.
The new suite of digital services, dubbed Charter Spectrum, includes a jump in Internet speeds from 30 Mbps to 60 Mbps for most customers at no additional cost. The upgrades also include access to more than 200 HD video channels and voice service with unlimited nationwide calling.
Charter first began its local move to an all-digital network in August 2013 with a project focusing on Glendale, Burbank and Long Beach. The second phase of the plan began in March 2014 and concluded this month. The company plans to go all-digital across its entire 29-state footprint by the end of 2014.
