Mediacom Business plans to partner with schools and libraries in its service areas with its Gigabit+ Fiber Solutions in a recently announced federal program to subsidize broadband and WiFi for schools and libraries.

The FCC has approved a plan to phase out funding under E-rate for pagers and dialup phone service, and to redirect $2 billion to boost wireless Internet connectivity in U.S. schools and libraries over the next two years. About 1,000 schools in Mediacom markets have access to Gigabit+ Fiber Solutions. The company offers 24/7 management and monitoring of the services.
