Google Fiber (NASDAQ:GOOG) has started accepting signups for its gigabit-capable FTTH service in the North Hills, midtown area of Raleigh, NC. Available residential plans include 100 Mbps Internet for $50 a month, 1 Gbps Internet for $70, 100 Mbps Internet and TV for $140, and 1 Gbps Internet and TV for $160. Business tiers are available at 100 Mbps, 250 Mbps and 1 Gbps.
The company also plans to serve its first Gigabit Communities property at The Oaks in the coming months. Gigabit Communities is a Google Fiber program that brings free gigabit Internet to residents in certain public and low-income housing properties.
The company previously launched Google Fiber in Morrisville, NC, and is continuing to build its network in the Triangle area.
In October, Google Fiber announced a slowdown in its plans to expand into new markets, though current construction would continue. The FTTH service, which first deployed in the Kansas City area five years ago, is currently available in five cities and is in either the planning or construction stage in six more.
