Ohio-based Consolidated Cooperative has selected Alianza's Cloud Voice Platform to launch residential and commercial phone services for its members.
Consolidated is one of the latest electric cooperatives to launch fiber-based broadband services. Consolidated Cooperative has been serving rural and farming communities north of Columbus since the 1930s. The co-op's broadband service, which delivers speeds of up to 1 Gbps, was launched this summer, and the company aims to connect its 14,000 households within three to five years. Consolidated expects to launch phone services in early 2019.
"High-speed data connectivity is crucial to the prosperity of our members and communities. Voice services are a much-needed enhancement to make our new offerings more attractive to our members," said Phil Caskey, president and CEO of Consolidated Cooperative. "We are quite pleased to have found a partner like Alianza to help us in our mission to improve the quality of life of those we serve."
Alianza's software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution is designed to be turnkey and easy to deploy and manage. Alianza is a supporter of electric cooperatives and is an Associate Member of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
"Offering phone service makes good business sense for electric cooperatives getting into broadband," said Camille Issa, Alianza's vice president of sales. "We are honored by our selection by Consolidated Cooperative to deliver a new service that will be in the same caliber of reliability and excellence its members have come to expect."
