ZCorum, Southern Fibernet offer turn-key IPTV service to broadband providers

Nov. 10, 2020
Newly available linear IPTV offering bundles national and local TV content delivered over the provider’s network without the need for traditional headend infrastructure.

ZCorum (Alpharetta, GA), a provider of managed broadband services and software, announced that it has partnered with Southern FiberNet (SFN) to offer a unique IPTV service to communications service providers across the United States.

The offering furnishes a dedicated path, Internet-protocol based television service directly from SFN, a company that also provides fiber to the home (FTTH) Internet and video content services in Georgia.

“SFN has put together a unique, turn-key IPTV solution that delivers video content to communications providers and their subscribers without the operator needing a traditional cable TV headend, or having to acquire and maintain programming contracts,” explained Arthur Skinner, vice president of worldwide sales at ZCorum.

ZCorum is offering the SFN TV Now product to broadband service providers nationwide, providing local TV and national content with over 90 sports and entertainment channels. The service is delivered to the subscriber’s home via the operator’s broadband connection and can be viewed by the subscriber on a TV, and variety of other approved devices.

“The low cost of entry and attractive pricing of our TV packages is perfect for operators who want to add Pay TV to their broadband offering, as well as for those already providing video who want to reduce their ongoing operational, maintenance, and programming costs,” added ZCorum's Skinner.

"We have been growing rapidly and realized with the right partner we could really leverage that growth," commented David Falkenstein, managing partner at SFN. He continued, "We already knew ZCorum well, as they provide a host of managed services and diagnostics for our broadband business. They are a great fit for our requirements both from their commitment to the quality of service and support they provide, and their ability to help us take full advantage of the many opportunities available in the market. On behalf of Bryan, Zach, and myself as our ownership team at SFN, we could not be more proud and excited to form this alliance with ZCourm."

ZCorum provides a suite of broadband services to cable companies, telephone companies, utilities, and municipalities, helping them increase operational efficiency and reduce costs while improving the subscriber experience. This is achieved through the company's comprehensive broadband deployment services, diagnostics software for DOCSIS and fiber networks, and managed services that include device activation for data and voice, residential and commercial VoIP service, branded email, along with 24x7 support for end-users.

Julie Compann, president and CEO of ZCorum said, "This partnership perfectly aligns with our commitment in delivering our customers innovative products and services coupled with exceptional value and performance. We expect the TV Now service to be well received by broadband operators who have been searching for a better and more profitable way to offer a Pay TV service, as well as by their subscribers who want flexibility in how and when they watch TV.”
