Empire Access expands fiber broadband footprint into northeast Pennsylvania
Empire Access, a fiber-optic broadband service provider in the U.S. Northeast, announced that the company is set to continue its network expansion strategy with service to the towns of Bloomsburg, Hazleton, and Nanticoke, Pennsylvania.
Headquartered in Prattsburgh, New York, Empire Access provides fiber optic-backed internet services to smaller-in-size communities in upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania.
Set for completion in fall of 2023, the company's latest fiber buildout in Pennsylvania will offer residents and businesses gigabit-speed internet, TV, phone, and IoT security offerings, including IoT security, home automation and 24/7 video monitoring. Advanced business service offerings will include enterprise Wi-Fi, high-security firewalls, business email, audio and video conferencing, dark fiber, and metro Ethernet capabilities.
The company said the new fiber access will primarily serve areas without access to high-speed internet, providing businesses and residential customers alike with reliable connectivity.
The new expansion adds three new communities to Empire Access’ network, which has seen significant growth over the past year.
Jim Baase, CEO at Empire Access, remarked:
“The demand for reliable Internet access drives us to continue expanding to communities in need. We believe that each community is critical to what we do, and we take pride in our local support teams. By keeping our customer service and construction at the local level, we stay closely connected to the communities we are a part of. Unlike many of our competitors, our customers will not see sudden price increases. We firmly offer the best Internet at an affordable price. We are excited to welcome Bloomsburg, Hazleton, and Nanticoke to the Empire Access family.”
Late last year, Empire Access announced the expansion of its fiber-optic internet network to Scranton, Pennsylvania, with 120 miles of network underway and more construction set to begin in February 2023. At that time, the ISP said services for that facet of its fiber buildout were expected to launch to consumers in the summer of 2023.
