En el Mobile World Congress 2014, Cisco trabajó con Fira de Barcelona y la GSMA para proporcionar una red Wi-Fi que admitió alrededor de 81 000 dispositivos conectados a Internet. En el transcurso de la conferencia de cuatro días, estos dispositivos generaron 19,1 terabytes de datos. Esto representa un aumento del 300 % en el tráfico en comparación con el año anterior. Hubo un pico de 22 126 conexiones simultáneas, un pico de 1,2 gigabytes por segundo de tráfico de Internet y se subieron y transmitieron 280 gigabytes a través de un único punto de acceso durante un solo día de la conferencia.
