Virgin Media (NASDAQ:VMED) has implemented Digital Element's NetAcuity Edge IP geolocation technology to manage the geographic rights of the content available online on the Virgin TV Anywhere service. To support the rights of content owners, Virgin Media is obliged to allow access to web-delivered TV only to viewers in the UK. By deploying Digital Element's real-time location data, Virgin Media can prevent viewing in other countries of the world where it is prohibited.
