Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) is launching a new feature to enable its customers to track technicians' arrival in real time. The new feature, which will be available for free through Comcast's MyAccount app, begins trialing outside Boston this week.
Customers with scheduled appointments will be alerted through the App when the technician is about 30 minutes away, and will be able to track the technician's progress on a map. Customers need not be at home to check the app, and will also be advised if the tech is running late. The app also includes a "rate the experience" feature.
After the trial period, Comcast hopes to launch the app next year.
